Army - Saddam Capture Site |

| Note that the same symbol that was on the boat is on this door, which faces the Tigris River at the Saddam Capture Site. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID. |
Saddam Hussein Capture site. A small, dirty concrete hole in the ground. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID. |

| Another shot of the entrance to HVT#1 hole. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID. |
Interior of other side. Note fan and pipe for air in corner. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st
BCT, 4ID. |
 |
Interior of one side of HVT#1 hole. Complete with light.
Guess Saddam didn't like the dark... |
 |
 |
| This very green "grove" was where Saddam got snagged. This path leads up to the small house from the river. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID. |
"House" used by Saddam and his buddies while he wasn't busy hiding in holes... This was taken around the 16th or so of DEC 2003. ICDC soldiers pretty much looted the place of anything useful a few days after capture. You can see it has already been gone through pretty good in these pics. HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID. |

| Saddam's Boat? It is speculated that this boat, located at the Saddam Capture site (near Objective Wolverine 2) near the town of Ad Dawr, Iraq, may have transported Saddam along the river. The Tigris river is in the background. 14 December 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4th ID. |
The symbol on the back of the boat was translated by an ICDC (Iraqi Civil Defense Corps) troop as being a Saddam Fedayeen symbol/character. 14 DEC 2003, HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4th ID. |
 |
| A patrol from HHB 4/42 FA, 1st BCT, 4ID on the banks of the Tigris River, around June 2003. This site is in Ad Dawr, and the Saddam Capture site is approx 800 or so meters away, basically in the direction that SGT Franklin is looking in the picture. The area was patrolled constantly, so who knew that Saddam would get caught there? |
